Product Introduction

Spring energized PTFE seals perform reliably in a variety of applications where conventional elastomeric seals fail due to chemical attack, extreme heat or cold, friction, extrusion or compression set.

Product Parameter (Specification)

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) composite materials with different formulas were prepared using carbon fiber or glass fiber as reinforcement fibers and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) or graphite as solid lubricants; the composite materials were subjected to dry friction and oil lubrication conditions In the friction and wear test, the wear morphology was observed, and the effects of different reinforcing fibers and solid lubricants on the friction and wear properties of the composite were analyzed.

The results show that under dry friction conditions, when the solid lubricant is the same, compared with glass fiber reinforced, the wear scar width of carbon fiber reinforced PTFE composite is smaller and the friction factor is larger. When the reinforcing fibers are the same, MoS2 modified The wear scar width of the modified PTFE composite is smaller than that of the graphite modification, and the friction factor is larger than that of the graphite modification. Under oil lubrication conditions, when the solid lubricant is the same, the wear scar width of the carbon fiber reinforced PTFE composite is stronger than that of glass fiber. The friction coefficient is smaller than that of glass fiber reinforcement. When the reinforcing fibers are the same, the wear scar width of MoS2 modified PTFE composite is slightly lower than that of graphite modification, and the friction factor is larger than that of graphite modification.


Product Details

Spring energized seal lips and spring energizer are compressed when installed into the seal gland. The resilient spring responds with constant force, pushing out the sealing lips and creating a gas tight seal against the sealing surfaces. The seal expands as pressure is introduced – increasing the sealing force beyond that provided by the spring and the jacket material.
